Gas
Pipelines Victoria Pty Ltd (GPV) owns and operates the Carisbrook
to Horsham gas transmission pipeline in Western Victoria. The pipeline provides
high-pressure natural gas to distributors who supply end-use customers in Avoca, Ararat, Stawell and Horsham. The GPV pipeline receives gas at the Carisbrook
metering station and transports it to city gate stations near the three towns.
The Carisbrook to Horsham gas transmission pipeline was built in 1998 and was the first privately owned gas transmission pipeline in Victoria. GPV operates the pipeline in accordance with a safety case as administered by Energy Safe Victoria under the Gas Industry Act, 1997.
GPV is wholly owned by the Energy Infrastructure Trust for which Infrastructure Specialist Asset Management Limited is trustee. The Energy Infrastructure Trust is managed by the Infrastructure Capital Group. GPV has its own Board of Directors.
Gas Pipelines Victoria is a subscribing member of the Australian Pipelines and Gas Association.
